Once the Kothlis Servant had landed, Borsk Fey'lya nad his droid, CZ-42, had exited the ship. Waiting in the landing bay was a governmental aide.
"Greetings," the aide said, "I am here to escort you to the negotiations, thankfully the system leaders are all on Corellia right now so you should not have to wait long for the negotiations to start."
"That is good," Borsk replied, "So when will they be ready?"
"Within a half hour, I shall take you there just now."
The aide took Borsk and CZ-42 out of the landing bay and into another bilding where the negotiations where going to talk place.

Twenty seven minutes later minutes later Borsk was in a negotiations room where there were five people seated, one Drall, one Selonian and three humans, a representative of each of the five worlds of the Corellia system.
"Now Mr. Fey'lya, please outline your proposal," the Selonian said.
"What I am asking is this, I am formally inviting Corellia to join the Alliance to Restore the Republic."
"Why do you ask this?" the representative of Corellia asked, "What do you want from our system?"
"We would, of course, expect support in our cause..."
"What sort of support?" the Corellian again asked.
"Financiall support, recruitment for the military, permission to keep navy vessels in system, though we would not ask for anything which would cripple you," Borsk replied.
"Of course you wouldn't," the Corellian scoffed
"What would we expect in return?" the Drall asked.
"You will expect freedom. We would provide defenses for your worlds and will not treat different species with prejudice. All species would be treated fairly by the Alliance."
"That's good," the Drall replied, but his human collegue representing Corellia was not so convinced.
"Freedom from what?" he asked, what is it that we need freedom from?"
"Well, the Alliance will keep all of your people free from Imperial prejudice. Your system is one of the most important in the galaxy, aurely you cannot believe that the Imperials will ignore you forever?"
"They have done so far."
"Have you not listened to what I have said? Sooner or later the Imperials will not be able to afford to ignore Corellia anymore, and then you will need defense," Borsk replied, growing irritated at this man's arrogance.
"He is right," the representative of one of the twin worlds said, "just because we have been lucky so far does not mean that it will always be the case."
"My thanks for being able to understand my reasoning," Borsk replied to the representative from one of the twin worlds.
The Corellian representative grew quiet, but the representaive from the other twin world had something to contribute, "what of our economy?"
"Like I said before, we will require financial assistance, but not to the extent that you would be crippled. We do not seek to place you under tyranny."
"Reassuring, but what of defense," he then asked Borsk, "how can you garante our safety?"
"Two quite simple facts," Borsk replied, "firstly the Alliance fleet has never been defeated while defending an Alliance world. Secondly, even if the fleet is unable to reach you, you would have defenses quite capaable of repelling an Imperial attack. Recently at Thyferra its planetery defenses held out against Imperial attack and Thyferra was not taken."
The leaders of the Corellian system looked at each other, before one of them said, "well, it would appear we have nothing further to ask you. We will take a vote on this and tell you our decision."
"My thanks," Borsk said as he was lead out. This meeting had proved very interesting, and he would have to get CZ-42 to find out some things about that human from Corellia.

Borsk was waiting for the aide to tell him to go back through to the negotiations room. CZ-42 had revealed something interesting, the human representing Corellia had pro-human sentiments, that explained his behaviour.
"The vote has been held, I shall take you through to hear the result," the aide said as he came through.
"Very good, then take me through," Borsk replied.
The aide escorted Borsk and CZ-42 back into the negotiations room. In it was sitting the representatives of the five Corellian worlds.
"We have voted and have the results," the Seloninan said.
"Go on," Borsk asked.
"The Corellian system shall join the Alliance to Restore the Republic, with a majority of the votes in favour of that outcome."
Borsk's fur rippled in satisfaction, that human being against them might have made things difficult for the Alliance.
"That is good news, I shall be sure to notify Alliance Command," Borsk said.
"Would you care for some refreshments?" the representative from Drall asked.
"Thank you, that would be most welcome," Borsk replied.

Corellia is now a member of the Alliance to Restore the Republic (Rebel Alliance).

The Corellian Government Center was bustling with activity, and for good reason. Admiral Ackbar, the Rebel delegate had arrived, meaning this treaty could finally be signed.
Not that I disliked Corellia, but several reports were showing some very disturbing trends with some key Imperial planets. Already, my mind was working on how to solve the problem. And I wasn't liking the answer much.
"I don't see him," a voice at my side commented.
I turned to Shayera. "He'll be along. We just need to give him time."
Time, I mused. Time isn't a luxury the Empire has if I'm right.

Jayceon, having been rather interested in the affairs of the LAMDA, had landed on Correllia a few hours before. However, his lack of ID prevented him from entering their tower, and so he had gone on a stroll round town. The bodyguard had been strolling for a couple of hours when he spotted the crowds of people both in and out of the Goverment Centre. He had quietly shuffled inside, and was now watching some Mon Calamari guy walking down the middle of the hall.

Stupid fish...people. I don't how the hell they managed to walk in the first place. Jayceon thought to himelf while sneering. He didn't even know what the commotion over this man was! He shook his head and brushed his hand through his short hair. Looking around, he spotted a Thangarian. Slapper, Jayceon thought. He never had much respect for them.

Jayceon tugged on his robes and walked out, mumbling curses and rudely shifting people out of the way.

My thanks go out to the good Admiral for RPing this with me on AIM.

Finally, I saw the Rebel delegate arrive.
"There he is."
Shayera looked where I was transfixed. "They sent Ackbar? I was thinking Solo himself would do this."
The infamous Admiral Ackbar. If this were any other set of conditions, I'd kill him where he stood. But then, Ackbar was in a high enough position...
I watched as he walked out ahead of his small entourage of aides and guards, glancing about at the buildings.
I took in a deep breath, and released it slowly to ease any tension, then straightened my white jacket and proceeded over to the Mon Calamari.
He saw my approach, and stopped about halfway between his vehicle and the government center. I continued on until we were about two meters apart. Then, trying to sound friendly, but not patronizingly so, I said, "Welcome to Corellia, Admiral."
The salmon-hued, goggle-eyed alien glanced around, then looked up at me. "Ah, yes. Of course. Thank you."
My curiosity got the better of me. "Before we begin, I'm curious as to why General Solo isn't here. This is his homeworld after all."
Ackbar appeared thoughtful for a moment. "He has some family issues to attend to... namely, some new additions. His attendance was not considered mandatory.
I was puzzled. "New additions?" Then realization hit me like the turbolasers of the Imperial fleet blasted half of Corulag a month earlier. "Oh, yes. Chief of State Organa-Solo was pregnant. Send them my congratulations."
Meh, congratulations. Come on Ams, try to be diplomatic.
The Rebel nodded. "I would be sure to do so."
I forced a small smile. "Thank you. Now, shall we attend to business, Admiral?"
"Of course. That would be why I am here... right, Grand Moff...?"
I realized he was searching for my unmentioned name. Well, that would complicate negotiations.
"My name is Jendob. Ams Jendob," I said, then gestured to my wife. "This is my chief of security, Administrator Shayera Hol." Then smirked, a little on the smug side. "And that is indeed why we're here, Admiral. Hopefully, Corellia is the first step in putting an end to this war."
"I hope so too," his oddly soothing voice toned in, then nodded to Shayera and me. "Grand Moff, Madame Administrator."
I stepped to the side so he could pass. "After you, Admiral."
His goggle-like eyes glanced at me and Shayera, then he motioned his entourage ahead. Shayera's eyes, much sharper than mine, caught the suspicious undertone.
"It's all right, Admiral," she soothed. "We're the only two Imperial personnel on the planet."
"After the battle here, I'm surprised there aren't more."
"That was a month ago, Admiral," I pointed out as we walked behind him. "I assure you, our desire for peace is genuine."
"I am very glad to hear that," he said.
We entered the government center itself, passing Drall, Selonians, humans, and the occasional out of system being. There was a table set up, near the center of the room. Ackbar approached it and sat down. I took a seat across from him, with Shayera standing by my side. Ackbar's guards stood by him, as well.
"So, are we all set?" the Admiral inquired.
I nodded. "We should be. The points of the treaty are as follows," I began as I read off the datapad. "'One, no military vessel larger than a corvette will enter the DMZ. Two, each side will police itself. Imperials will handle Imperial personnel, Rebels will handle Rebel personnel. Three, the system will be shared equally by the Alliance and Empire. Neither group has sole claim to anything in this system.'"
Ackbar nodded slightly. "Sounds fair, although I suppose I should pull my ship out. It seems I'm already breaking the law," he let out a Mon Calamari equivalent of a laugh.
"We'll let it go... this time," I chuckled. Then I became serious once more. "And that sharing extends to funds as well."
The Mon Calamari folded his flipper-like hands on the desk. "You refer to the shipyards?"
I made a sweep gesture. "All of it. The yards, the planetary income... All split evenly."
He nodded again, the movement making the small strands of flesh dangling from his chin bob. "I see. We are willing to split the costs if it means an end to this."
"As are we," I assured, then resumed reading the pad. "'Neither side will annex this system fully at anytime. And, finally, any individual taking action against the other side will be expelled from the system. If the incident is between and Imperial and a native Corellian, or a Rebel and a native Corellian, it's up to local authorities.'"
On that note, I glanced at Shayera quickly, and received a rather dirty look in return. Abashed yet mildly amused, I turned back to the admiral.
"I see. What about local defense? What if an attack were to take place?" he pondered.
"In that case, military vessels would be allowed into the system for the duration of the attack. But the moment hostilities cease, the ships pull back."
"Sounds fair enough to me."
"Anything you'd care to add?" I queried.
He thought for a moment, sighing, then grunting negatively. Finally, he shrugged. "Not that I can think of."
Something was missing. I skimmed back over the datapad, and found. It was only one of the most critical points. "One more thing. The Drall and Selonians will not be enslaved, ever."
"Slavery is never a condition under the Alliance, I can assure you," Ackbar said gruffly.
"I'm well aware of that," I pointed out. "I was giving you the assurance that the Empire would not bring that blight to this sector."
"Then in that case, I am very pleased to hear that."
I smiled a little and offered him the pad. "In that case, would you care to be first to sign the treaty?"
He smiled eerily, but it was probably a natural expression for the Mon Cals, and took the pad and stylus. "Of course. It would be my honor."
With that, he signed the document, and handed the pad to me. I scrawled my own signature beneath his, and set the pad down with a grin. Offering my hand to the admiral, I greeted him once more. "Welcome to the Demilitarized Sector of Corellia, Admiral Ackbar."
The sound of applause originated at my side, and what Shayera started swept through the onlookers.
Ackbar grasped my hand. "The same to you, Grand Moff."
We stood, and I felt an odd feeling. Something great was accomplished today, without shedding blood, without causing havoc. It was a good feeling, I realized.
Sadly, before total peace could be achieved, I knew more blood had to run. But not Rebel blood. And hopefully not Imperial. No, a new foe threatened us both. A few minutes after the crowd thinned, I tapped Ackbar on the shoulder.
"Admiral, may I speak with you in private?"

Ams left the room he entered with Ackbar over an hour earlier.
"Ams, what's going on?" I asked.
He gave me a smug, triumphant smirk. "The next step in ending this war."
I was puzzled. "Isn't that what you did with the treaty?"
He looked at me remorsefully. "I'm sorry, Shy. I can't get into it. Too many ears around."
I understood right away. Classified and too sensitive to say in the open. All right, then.
An odd thought struck me from nowhere. He looks so attractive in his Class-A's.
Easy, Shayera... Not in front of the Rebels, I mused jokingly.
"Well, anything else we need to do?" I asked.
Ams shook his head. "No. I'm exhausted, anyway. Would you mind if I went back to the room and laid down?"
I smiled warmly at him. "Not at all, Ams."
