Yep, it's been announced and it's coming out in the fall of this year. It seems like it will be fixing a whole lot of issues people didn't like with the original game.
You can get more information at http://eaw.heavengames.com/ and it'll be featuring a whole section for the new xpack tomorrow or Sunday.

Oh good, any idea what the campaigns(if any) will be? Or is it all MP adjustments and things. Id find out myself but I got lost.

I can't believe their actually going to put the Eclipse in the game. Although if they don't add the ARC and Venator into the game through the expansion, I'm going to be forced to bitch slap someone. I hate adding in features through mods.

Yeah, there's alot of stuff we already know. As I said, the articles will be up probably tomorrow.
Also, the addition of the Eclipse did surprise me too. I'm very interested in how they're going to work that in.

Yeah, in normal map size it will fill the screen and have no room to maneuver. Not to mention other ships! LOL

I except that the Eclipse will probably be added in the same way that the Death Star is, in that it it behind the main battle screen.

I personally think it should have been based on the Prequels. Now, I know the OT were waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better and all, but when I imagine battles during both times, I find the adrenaline pumps quite a bit more in a battle between the Republic and the CIS a bit more than in one between th Rebels and the Empire.
However, I still have yet to purchase the game, but I intend on doing just that.
