Galactic News Network

"Bringing the Galaxy to you!"

With....

Katie Corrick

Thomas Wilkins

“Good Morning, I’m Katie Corrick.” The blonde female’s warming smile greeted the billions of viewers. Her co-anchor, Thomas appeared next.

“Good Morning, I’m Thomas Wilkins.” His charming smile was next as the GNN theme song played for several seconds. The camera panned outwards so that Katie and Thomas were in the view.

Katie took a breathe and read out the headlines, “The ‘evil’ leader of the Killik Empire received a halt in his trial as Exarch of Imperial Intelligence lashed out in court. A new species murks out of the Unknown Regions and sparks debates over the Galactic Communications network. A rather dashing exchange between Carnor Jax and Alatáriël Pallanén occurred, causing restrictions for military personnel on both sides.”

“A new Mandalore has claimed power from the rival clans and is attempting to unite the planet again. Rumor has it, Turbinia is combining forces with known coroporations in an attempt to steal credits from rival companies…

“Separations in the Jedi, lead to a divided people.” An image of Yoogle and Luke flash across the screen, “More on these stories, coming up next.

The theme music plays and the camera rolls out and into darkness

The music rolls as the holo-screens appear in the news room studio. Katie flashes her smile across the screen, Thomas's white teeth appearing as the camera finished its moving.

Thomas picked up his voice, "Brownhair Becky witnessed a startling moment at Flint's trial on the watery planet of Dac a few days ago. We have finally received some news footage after Alliance Security checked the feed.... here... Any children may want to look away as Exarch Hol displays a rather rude manner."

Shayera turned, and flashed a wolfish smile along with her left middle finger to the Alliance Security Chief. "Right there, Chief," with a large smirk. Arlyn had displayed a shock look at the Imperial display of clear hatred and annoyance.

Katie appeared on the screen, almost laughing, "Becky believes they were having a peaceful disagreement, when Miss Hol flashed her middle finger."

Thomas chuckled, "Stress tends to get the better of some. Perhaps through some medical assistance..."

Katie and Thomas received something through their earpeices, apparently the Network was receiving threats. The camers rolled back and a commercial for podracing appeared.

Well, the must have some form of standards. Joke

I'd like to register a complaint. You are showing an obscene gesture on a public Holonet channel. Also, the victim informs me that a raised middle finger does not carry the same meaning to Thanagarians as it does humans.

The GNN Newsroom appeared on the holoscreen, rolling as Katie appeared with a large grin. Her face appeared spooked from the information she had received in her earpiece.

"Our GNN Reporters managed to get a word with the new Ssi-Ruuvi Imperium. A new galactic power? Apparently the organization made the first step into acquiring new worlds. Here is our conversation with the Keeramak."

The large and colorful leader of the Ssi-Ruuvi appeared on the holoscreen, with the Twi'lek reporter Oophiala.

"What is the plans of the Ssi-Ruuvi Imperium?" Oophiala asked the giant lizard.

The Keeramak's voice was not of his own, but a droid translator. "We plan to move into the galaxy like many other dominant factions today. We have pledged our navy and army to many worlds and will assist in any defense they require."

The reporter nodded, "We have reports that G'hor was taken through violent means. How many civilian causalities have been recorded?"

The droid translator answered, "We have attempted to acquire the planet through diplomatic channels but that had failed. We had evidence that our people were enslaved in their zoos and various other entertainment attractions, so we did everything in our power to free them. We attempted to only attack military targets, but like any wars, some innocents fell victim."

The reporter repeated his question, "How many innocents fell, Keeramak?"

The religious leader, although being translated was a bit annoyed, "We do not have an accurate count as of yet. Prediction show low-hundreds."

The reporter looked through his questions and asked, "What are your future plans, after you have gained a step in this galaxy?"

The Keeramak displayed a more relaxed posture and vocal patterns, "After we have grown and achieved alliances with various governments, we will attempt to engineer a new generation of thinkers. One of greater intelligence and wisdom."

"And how do you plan to do that?"

"Education." The Keeramak grinned and the holo camera shut off.

"And there you have it." Thomas stated, "A new leader with worthy goals to match the superpowers of today's galaxy. Education being phase two of their plan, is a worthy step."

"A worthy note, no pledges of disagreement for the Ssi-Ruuvi have occurred, except that of Emperor Brote Heckler of the DRWP. The Keeramak made several statements that it could lead to war and his faction was preparing for it."

"As we learn more, we will keep you informed. Please stay tuned as here is a message from our sponsors."

The holocameras rolled away and disappeared into a commercial

Please file your complaints onto different channels, as it is impossible for you to cut into our feed. Secondly, many worlds have different ratings. So it is impossible to match each.

The music plays as the news headline came in:

"Turbinia meets with Golan Representatives..."

Thomas appeared alone on the set, "Welcome back and we have some exciting news. As Lady Arlyn of Geonosis meets with various financial leaders across the galaxy via Holo projection, an exciting turn of events has come forth. Golan Arms leader, Mercus Jenobi, has discussed the possible turnover to Miss Pallanén. A Board of Directors will be created in a joint operation to attempt to increase product exportation and profit abroad. Some financial leaders at this time wish to remain anonymous and un named. We can say, many corporations will be forming together." He paused to smile, "Let's take a short break."

The cameras rolled off the set and back into a short commercial break.

The cameras rolled Katie and Thomas appearing with their usual flashy smiles.

"Early this month, 4-LOM recreated the Bounty Hunter's Guild with the Lady of Geonosis funding the operations. Apparently their goal is to track down worthy criminals and collect the rewards on their heads. A possible interview with the organization leader, 4LOM or other members of the Guild will be broadcasted later this week."

"If you ever needed a bounty on an escaped prisoner, they are the way to go." Thomas chuckled then his voice quickly changed, "Party committee members are expecting a huge turnout at the Galaxy Ball. Miss Pallanén has only made several denials, one being Bounty Hunter Xaph. Although no official comments were made, it was possible it was due to the 'buglady' remark broadcasted over the holonet."

Katie grinned, "As the Galaxy Ball approaches, many are wondering what Imperial and Alliance relation offices plan to do. As relations tend to grow worse, it is possible the Imperial guest list is dropped, however, Security Chief and Ball planner Pallanén, denies any of these claims. She is expecting a full turn out and a wonderful event, with no problems."

"With that said, we are taking another break. Stay tuhned as our final broadcast for the day, when we return." he nodds and the camera cuts the show off.

Breaking News in Heckler case...

The holo cams displayed Katie as she was still receiving the news from her earpiece versus the holowords.

"We have interrupted our commercial break for an exciting update on the Heckler case. The Jury has apparently found Emperor Heckler of the DRWP guilty on all accounts."

Thomas took his place, fixing his earpiece, "Judge Borsk of the Galactic Alliance has yet to speak concerning the penalities of the jury's vote. We'll have more on this story as the time goes by."

GNN Themesong plays as it returns to Grandpa's Droid Works.
