This is the joint Imperial-Alliance trial of Prime Unu Flint of the Yoggoy Confederate. All members of this court room will be subject to a strict code of conduct:

  • Due to the nature of this trial, all attendants will be searched for weapons and screened for any diseases being carried by the baliffs.
  • The defense will be strip-searched.
  • There will be no hostilities, and a joint Imperial-Alliance fleet will be in orbit of the planet during the proceedings to enforce that.

The trial will be broadcast over CourtNet on Galactic Communications. Comments may be made by non-members of the trial there, not here.

Speaker => Borsk Fey'lya
Judge => Han Solo, Mara Jade, Alexus Sienar
Location => Mon Calamari
Prosecution => Shayera Hol, Leia Organa Solo
Defense => Flint
Alliance Charges => Slavery, War Crimes, Violation of Galactic Treaties, Violation of Demilitarization Pact, Attempt to Solicit an Alliance Officer to Treason
Imperial Charges => Conspiracy to Assassinate an Imperial official, Conspiracy to Destroy the City of Coronet, Conspiracy to Overthrow the Empire, assaulting Imperial Forces, Violation of Demilitarization Zone, Conspiracy to Murder the Crew of the Prestige
Baliffs => Luke Skywalker, Yoogle
Alliance Witnesses => Nevin Antilles, Alatáriël Pallanén, Ams Jendob, Petyr Baelish
Imperial Witnesses => Ams Jendob, Kalydon Skirata
Defense Witnesses => Alatáriël Pallanén, Ryan Davad, Ams Jendob, Unnamed Haruun Kal

Note that the list of witnesses may be expanded upon.

This is the schedule of the trial:

Appendix::Opening Statements
Proceedings::Prosecution Case (with Defense crossexamination of witnesses)
Proceedings::Defense Case (with Prosecution crossexamination of witnesses)
Proceedings::Closing Argument
Appendix::Deliberation
Proceedings::Verdict
Proceedings::Sentencing
Appendix::Closing Statements

OOC Notes: Everyone that is listed MUST arrive within the week. Flint is the exception; he will be posted landing from the Storm, then being escorted by the baliffs, due to some circumstances that have yet to occur before this post. The Imperial forces above Corellia will not receive knowledge of the trial until the slightly backlogged Battle of Corellia is over.

Borsk stood at his podium, preparing his opening statements. He shuffled through the various files on the Datapad. Soon, it was time for the trial to begin. It was always a good thing to see high-ranking dignitaries. Oh, he thought. Justice is good too.

Finally, he cleared his throat and activated a comm channel to all starships in orbit. "All parties attending the trial of Prime Unu Flint, please finalize your landing proceedures and arrive on the surface as soon as possible. The trial is set to begin in 6 standard hours."

Please land on the planet and check in with security as Arlyn instructed. After that, come into the courtroom and take a seat.

Alexus walked in, and looked around to see most of the seats were empty. He nodded at Fey'lya, took one of the three judges' seats, and waited.

I entered the courtroom only to see few people there.
Only the Judge Fey'lya and Alexus Sienar were there so far. I then took my seat, and sat back...thinking.

Thinking about the past few days, the Battle of Corellia, my hand in it all, Unu Flint's psychotic demands and delusions of grandeur, and what would go down here, today.

This should get very interesting by the end...

Petyr gingerly tapped the enter button and strode in the courtroom, straightening his back to his full hight, towering over most, yet he held less than 140 pounds on his slender frame. Nodding informally to Fey'lya and the two others, the Emperor took his seat.

This is...later. After the events in the other thread. Joke

I walked into the courtroom, with Ams following. He took his seat in the gallery, while I sat behind the table for the prosecution. I let out a long, slow breath.
I haven't been this nervous since... hells, I don't even know when. Maybe Corellia...
I focused on what Ams had been teaching me the past week. My palms began to sweat, and I wiped them on my pantleg.
Now the waiting had begun.

After a brief rest, I entered and took a seat on the bench designated for me. I ran a hand through my hair and looked around. If anything, this will be interesting. I looked at a datapad of charges brought up against the defense. It was quite a list. I was interested to see how he would wriggle himself out of this.[/i]

Since Alex is away, I'll be mentioning Yoogle's actions. I hope you don't have any problems with it, and if you do, let me know. Smile

After checking into his room, Nevin walked past the guards and entered the trial hall. For some strange reason, there were flame marks on the wall...

He ignored them and walked into the third row from the front and sat down. Antilles expected this to be boring as hell, but if it would send this idiot away forever, it was well worth the wait.

The Jedi Master Yoogle entered through the doors. Flanking him were two Security Troopers as well as two Army troopers. Behind them was the twisted human form of Flint being led by another trooper. Finally, the row ended with two more Army guards. They led him to the frontmost row and sat him down, all standing on either side. The small stature of Yoogle moved to the side wall, observing the accused with hawk eyes.

Just a thought, Alex usually posts in green for Yoogle. You could too, for continuity's sake.

The sudden noise of things crashing interupted my thoughts.
"What the hell is going on out there?"
Suddenly I cursed my lack of a knife or some other defensive instrument.

I knew it couldn't be Flint...he lost his force connections for now.
He was now a simple, mortal creature.

"Oh, how the mighty have fallen." A thin smile touched my lips.

I got up from my seat to see what was going on. As I walked by the Exarch, I noticed something...she was sweating, nervous. I could tell.
I kept walking to the door, I proceeded to the lobby to see what happened.

I saw the Jedi, Skywalker, throwing people around and burning paintings.

I shook my head, "Bloody Jedi...going off half cocked at the first sign of a problem. Wreckless and short tempered."

I wondered if he might become a security risk judging by his behavior...

I proceeded to get a glass of water from the lobby and then headed back to the trial hall.

When I returned, I walked over to the Supreme Moff and the Exarch.
"Excuse me maam and sir."
The exarch looked up. "Hello, Commodore... Skirata?"
I handed the water to her. "Here, I noticed you're a bit nervous...the slight trembling in the hands, and the look in your eyes."
She laughed. "My first big trial," she joked, politely refusing the glass of water.
"Fair enough, you'll do fine I believe. If your record shows anything, it's that you can take alot." I reasured.
"And frankly speaking...Flint's doomed here, today."

Jendob grunted behind her. "If there's any justice in this Galaxy... absolutely."
"Yeah. After the things he's done," Hol concurred.
"I would hope there is justice out there." I commented.

"What do you make of the 'incident' that just occured out in the lobby? Skywalker just stormed out, knocking people down, and burning paintings...possible risk to the trial?"

Both the Exarch and Supreme Moff displayed shocked looks. "He did what?" Jendob asked incredulously.
"Yes, people were being knocked around like rag dolls, paintings are burned, and Luke's saber and robe were on the floor." I replied.

The two Intelligence officers exchanged worried looks.

I cocked an eyebrow "Should he become a security risk, what would be done?"
Jendob answered plainly as Hol cursed under her breath in several languages. "It's really in the Alliance's hands."

I replied with a sigh, "The Alliance, oh goody."
I then looked at the Exarch, "You know, I'm not sure that is anatomically possible with Skywalker...we don't even know if he has those organs." I said with a slight chuckle.

Jendob cocked an eyebrow in mild disapproval, but the Exarch couldn't resist. "Well, a few Intel reports on one of his associates says otherwise... though it could've been done artificially," she smirked.

I let out a laugh, "Thank you both for your time, I'll take my seat."

The Thanagarian and secret Human Replica Droid appeared in the trial doors. Master Yoogle appeared and checked each for weapons to which they were cleared. The Mon Calamari senator was scanned and equally cleared and he made his way towards the seats.

"Master Yoogle, it is a pleasure to see you again." Arlyn said with a smile. Master Yoogle bowed. His large eyes moved around the room until he looked back to the Thanagarian and the man next to him.

"See your emotions, I cannot." Yoogle said with a smile towards Ryan. Ryan moved nervously but Yoogle continued, "Amazing you are. Proud to meet you, I am." Ryan grinned and shook the Jedi Master's hand. "Return, I must, to security." They exchanged respectful bows and Arlyn and Ryan made their way towards their seats.

A ramp immeadiatly fell, Kyp walking off. The people of Huraan Kal were safe, well those the team found. Kyp was finally and possibly able to see some closure with the soon to start trial of Flint. Finally some action had been taken against Flint.

Moving inside he walked towards to court room doors. His duty or one he'd appoint himself to, is to make sure Flint doesn't do anything tricky, though he'd probally be gunned down before Kyp could do anything.

Walking into the large crowded room Kyp took a seat near the front, fixing his body so that he could keep an eye on Flint once he came in.

Borsk surveyed the arrivals to the trial. It appeared that most everyone was here, and although he wasn't one of the judges - like he should have been - it was time to commence the proceedings.

"Ahem," Fey'lya cleared his throat as he gripped a microphone in his furry hand. "Attendants, please, to order," he commanded. "We are now getting underway and I would like to remind anyone that comments regarding the proceedings should be made from the computer consoles in your seats. With that, please rise for the entrance of the judges."

Lady Arlyn rose to her feet, with Ryan at her side. They squeezed each other's hand and looked towards the door, waiting for the judges to appear.

Um, would it be ok if I change the character at the trial? I'd rather the President shows up instead of Sienar.

Ok, I am. I'd ask you Cray, but I'm starting to doubt you exist.

Jahan walked in and look out over the room, seeing everyone standing in the presence of him and his fellow judges. The whole galaxy is here... a single well-placed terrorist attack would chop the head off all the major governments, he thought, and took his seat. He looked over at Fey'lya and nodded at him. It was clear the Bothan wanted the judge's seat from the way his fur bristled.

Kyp stood up, and watched around him for any suspcious movements. With all the government officials around Kyp had to stay sharp. The thought of a gun being pulled somewhat scared Kyp who tightly grasped his lightsaber ready for an attack as Jahan walked to the judge's box.

Luke entered the room closely behind Flint. He approached the bench and bowed respectfully, “The prisoner Flint has arrived. The trial may commence.”

Flint was seated. I did my best not to glower at the scum. But if there was even an ounce of justice in the Galaxy, today would be his last.
With that thought in mind, and with a silent nod from my co-counsel, the Alliance Chief of State herself, I stood and faced Flint.
Normally, the charges would be read by the judge. But there was nothing normal about this trial. And with three judges, it was debatable who should read the list. In a brief session beforehand, it was determined that the prosecutors would inform Flint of the crimes he was accused of.
"Flint, the Galactic Empire hereby charges you with the following crimes against our state: conspiracy to assassinate an Imperial official, conspiracy to overthrow the Empire, assaulting Imperial Forces, violation of Demilitarization Zone, and conspiracy to murder the crew of the Prestige, with the additional general charge of conspiracy to destroy the city of Coronet. How do you plead?"

His defiance was no real surprise. From Intel reports on his efforts on the Holonet, it seemed he enjoyed making up elaborate-sounding excuses for his actions. The problem (for him) was that even the baby in my womb could see through his lame excuses.
"Very well," I answered, with a hint of a predatory tone in my voice. I watched as Organa Solo rose to her feet.
"The charges listed by the Galactic Alliance are as follows: slavery, war crimes, violation of Galactic treaties, violation of Demilitarization Pact, attempt to solicit an Alliance officer to treason. How do you plead?"

You idiot. You just signed your death warrant, I thought. Then again, I preferred it this way. There would be no pleading down the sentence now.
Still, I wasn't the only one fighting for justice in the matter. The Alliance provided their own representative, their own Chief of State. I figured, since the planet was Alliance-controlled, the security provided by the Alliance, and essentially everthing else centered around them (to the point I overheard Ams and another officer arguing with the security chief over a sensor net, of which the other Imperial's ship would be the frontline guard of it... clearly unacceptable to Pallanén), I figured she might as well give the opening arguments first.
As she looked at me, seeming to ask if I wished to give my statement first, I shook my head marginally, indicating she should go first.

Han blew out a long, drawn out sigh and leaned forward to rub at his tired eyes. The sigh came awfully close to resembling a groan, but he didn't care. As far as he was concerned, being here was pointless anyway. This whole trial was a joke and now it seemed like it was gonna last forever.

How he got roped into being a judge for this thing was anyone's guess. Han Solo and the justice system didn't mix. He could think of any number of things he'd rather be doing than sitting here and watching a sad bug man defend himself.

Sometimes he missed the old life when he could just hop in the Falcon with Chewie and just fly away and get lost somewhere for a while. The whole situation with Luke just made things more complicated and caused that desire grow. In fact, this whole responsibilty thing was beginning to get to him. Lando was right in that respect. Maybe he should've listened to him more when he was still alive...

The bird woman, Shy, was still stalling even when Han finally brought his focus back on the trial. Maybe a good, swift kick in the ass would get her moving. In fact, maybe that's what everyone here needed to get things rolling. They were all moving slower than a Hutt stuck in a sand trap.

Han rolled his eyes at the proceedings and propped his feet up on the desk before him. If he was gonna be here for a long time, might as well make himself comfortable. Who cared about formalities anyway?

Leia stepped forward and walked in front of the assembly, coming to rest before Flint’s eyes. “Mr. Flint,” she began. “Leader of the Killiks. Leader…or slaver?”

She took a look around the room. “Today, I will attempt to prove to all of you,” Leia paused and gave a pointed look at the three stands behind her. “and especially to Your Honors, that this man is not only a disgrace to the galaxy, but he is the bane of his oft-called ‘people’ and has also directly offended the Galactic Alliance, as well as our close allies, the Galactic Empire.”

Leia took a pause and stared into Flint’s eyes for just a moment. It was hard to believe that this monster was once a human. She almost felt sorry. “Prime Unu Flint is not the rightful ruler of the Killiks or the Yoggoy Confederate. They did not choose him; he wasn’t even made ruler by heredity. He didn’t even do it by military conquest or diplomacy. No, he enslaved their minds with his own. Slavery is illegal in both the Galactic Alliance and the Empire, as well as almost every civilized corner of this galaxy.”

“He has also violated public treaties outright. The treaty, the one of unconditional surrender, he agreed to after the Battle of Corellia demanded his full disarmament chatlogs are available at request. As I proclaimed and showed in the Holonet, he did not follow this tenant.”

“Also, during hostilities before this latest crisis, he agreed with many factions of the galaxy not to attack them. However, his unprovoked presence at Corellia with a fleet of war dashed all hopes of his sincerity.”

“He has also attempted to bribe my officers – specifically, my Chief of Security – to his side. Quite strange for someone who wants to make peace, isn’t it?”

“Mr. Flint, on a personal note,” Leia said, throat raspy. “You should have pled guilty.”

“This brings my statement to completion,” The Prosecutor said, stepping back to the table at which Exarch Hol sat. “Your turn,” she said quietly with a slight smirk.

I rose to my feet, slightly awed by Organa Solo's vocal talent. And I had to follow it.
"Ladies and gentlemen," I began, taking a position at the front of the room, scanning across the judges panel, then turning around across the gallery, that slime Flint, and then Organa Solo. "The question before us today is that of the fate of a man known as Flint. The charges and evidence both weigh against him immensely, and it will be up to this court to decide..."
I trailed off. To decide if he's guilty? Almost everyone in this room was at Corellia. What the frak is with this anyway? Shouldn't he be tried by both the Empire and Alliance, instead of us basically being guests of an Alliance party?
I clenched the datapad tightly for a moment, my emotions running wild for a brief instant before I clamped down on them. My path was clear.
I turned to the judges. "Your Honors, I apologize. I can't do this." Pausing for a moment, I worked out exactly what I wanted to say. "This is joke. A sick, twisted joke. This man is guilty. The proof has been seen by almost everyone in this room! This, this trial is totally unnecessary except for the Alliance to continue to play pretend about being the 'good guys.' There are no good guys anymore. Just the victors and the losers. In this case, we won. However, there are still evil forces in the Galaxy, and this man represents them to an extent beyond almost anything the Empire of old could conjure! This is nothing but a propaganda effort! And, as the Imperial representative, I refuse to be used for propaganda, and I am formally withdrawing from this case pending a discussion about dealing with that swine properly."
With that, I left the judges gaping as I walked to the exit and into the main corridor, hearing Ams' footsteps hot on my trail.

I watched the Exarch leave. She was right. This trial was a farce. It was nothing but a pretense before we just executed him, anyway. I could have done it then and there, but I didn't want to be in an Alliance defendant's chair next.

I got up, took a short glance around the courtroom, and followed Exarch Hol out of the room, shaking my head. I saw her and said, "Exarch, wait."

I saw her stop and turn to me with a look that said she wasn't in the mood. I returned a lethal one. I softened my look and she hers, then I said, "I agree with you. This is one of the worst wastes of time in Galactic history. If this had been an Imperial trial, I guarantee Emperor Vader would have taken one look at him and killed him on the spot. But, this isn't an Imperial trial, and I am impressed by your actions. It took quite a bit of courage to say that with the entire Galaxy watching."

"Is that so, Red?" a baritone voice called out from the doorway to the makeshift courtroom. The figure stepped out into the corridor lighting and revealed Han standing with arms crossed across his chest. His hard gaze was set on the two Imperial women as they stood there, patting each other on the back over their 'victory.' "And Exarch, that was a foolish move for you to make. Who taught you how to play your cards? You're always preachin' about the Empire being all glorious and out for the greater good and now you throw this out there for all the galaxy to see."

A sly smirk twisted on Han's lips as he took a threatening step closter to the bird woman. Her actions in the courtroom moments earlier had spurred the final blow and Han was quick to his feet to not only leave the trial behind but give this bird woman what she had coming to her. Turning the tables on the Alliance and putting the blame on them was the wrong move to make and the bird woman would pay dearly.

"I guess it was only a matter of time before the galaxy saw what the Empire really is," he spat into her face. "Nice job on blowin' your cover, Wings. I know I enjoyed the ride. Maybe the people here actually believe in this trial, unlike you. You should think about that next time."

I rolled my eyes. "Y'know somethin', Solo? Bite me! I'm not putting the blame on you, just your stupid pretending. You want that nerfsucker to be taking a dirtnap just as much as I do! Now, I'm not saying he doesn't deserve a trial at all, but one with all of this trouble, pulling ships in across the Galaxy? Who's frakking idea was it to have everyone come to Mon Calamari?! Why not the Holonet? But no... you know something? You are the ones with the control problem here," I barked at him. "Now, I say we should try him, but not shower him with all of this attention and bullshit. He isn't worth it."
I was so focused on rebutting his lame excuses that I didn't realize I was almost out of breath. I quickly regained it, and speared him with a glare. "And if you ever insult my race again, I'll rip your balls off and shove them down your throat."

Han just shook his head with an amused smirk plastered onto his face. "Oh, I see how it is," he drawled out in a casual tone. "You're just sore that your precious Empire ain't holding the trial on their turf. Well, guess what, things don't always work out that way so stop your complainin'! Maybe I do think this guy would be better off six feet under, but it's ridiculous to just throw it on him without a trial! Even I have more sense than that!"

The Corellian stopped his rant and just stood there and studied her for a moment. The amused smirk never left his face and the longer he stood there, the wider it grew. "And another thing," he continued. "About that last comment, I would just love to see you try. Ain't very lady-like, is it?"

I was almost inclined to do it myself. I gave Han Solo one look that contained enough malice and hatred to melt durasteel.

"An attempt on your...balls...can be arranged, Mr. Solo," I said coldly.
